H.M. Lawson is an award-winning writer and educator who values the art of expression, especially through paint, music, and words. She has lived in Michigan, Texas, Missouri, Illinois, and France. During her childhood, she spent hours exploring the fields and river near her Midwest home. Fueled by her imagination and a backpack full of snacks, she and her sister spent hours exploring the vast, undeveloped acres behind their house. They were sovereign rulers of their outdoor kingdom of switchgrass and brambles. These early years of imagining and pretending paved the way for Lawson's passion for storytelling.
Lawson does her best writing in a room crammed with books, second-hand stringed instruments, and a cuckoo clock. She's married to a chef who disguises himself as an IT Director, and they have two funny, talented kids who are her inspiration.
In 2024, Lawson founded Wilson Lindberg Books, LLC, a self-publishing imprint specializing in self-deprecating comedies, quirky short-stories, and tales of adventure. She splits her time between writing stories and helping fellow authors follow their dreams.
The Mystery in Mapleton is Lawson's debut novel.
